Brownfield Loan Program

Brownfield Remediation Program
Agency: Ohio Department of Development
Summary: Funds remediation of hazardous substances or petroleum at industrial, commercial, or institutional property
Eligible Applicants: Local governments, port authorities, conservancy districts, park districts, land banks, nonprofits, or for-profit organizations that have entered into an agreement with a unit of local government.
Available Funding: $175 million; $1 million set-aside for each county
Local Match Requirement: No match required for dedicated county portion ($1 million set-aside); 25% local match required for projects awarded outside of the county’s dedicated portion

Brownfields Job Training
Agency: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Summary: funding for Brownfields job training programs that recruit, train, and retain a local, skilled workforce by prioritizing unemployed and under-employed residents to obtain the skills and credentials needed for pathways into full-time employment in various aspects of hazardous and solid waste management and within the larger environmental field, including sustainable cleanup and reuse, and chemical safety.

Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program

Climate Pollution Reduction Grants

Summary: Funds for planning of local greenhouse gas reduction strategies. Planning funds can be used to update existing climate, energy, or sustainability plans, or to develop new plans.

Electronics Scrap Recycling Advancement Prize (E-SCRAP)

Summary: The three phases of E-SCRAP prioritize the circularity of materials and reduction of e-scrap, identifying solutions that expand beyond a single-use life for electronics and encouraging reuse of product materials. The cash prizes and assistance awarded in Phases 1 and 2 are intended to support teams as they advance in the competition.

Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program
